To technology? For me, finally it was last night at aged 47 1/2. We had a new telly, it is a smart 4K thingy (it's deffo smarter than me) all I wanted to do was make the clicker off the BT box turn it on and off and adjust the volume, like it has done with my old telly this past few months and like the one from the virgin box did before that, I tried shouting at it, I tried a number of exasperated sighs, I even tried reading instructions (which coincidentally now needs a PhD) in the end I gave up and resorted to making the space on the little table big enough for two clickers, don't even start me on the telly menus or what it can do, technology moves fast and I can't keep up. I am a fossil.
only yesterday someone was telling me a similar story ,they called out TV fix it guy who told them he gad a degree in quantum physics which has a lot to do with the latest version's of TVs, ,after plugging his laptop in to the set it took 2 minutes to get it going
I refuse to be beaten by this new fangled technology. So I keep the old stuff for as long as possible.
I'm pretty good I've set my beta max player up in the living room, I can record records from the stereo gram on to a tape recorder, and I've set the timer on the bedroom vhs to record minder
My better half turns TV on and gets stuff we are watching. We rarely watch live TV.I find it a very complicated process so I have it written down step by step.Recently when he was away for a few days I couldn't find the instructions...so read a book instead.I asked a few of my female friends and they confirmed they couldn't turn TV on either! They also said they didn't know what all the buttons did in their dash...
I'm still making vain attempts to understand things. We recently got a 4K TV and it's a very gentle process of learning. Some days end with less certainty than they start
About the time technology started doing unnecessary stuff. I don't care if my TV can do a zillion things I don't need, or have another thing do more simply. I think back to basics is the way to go
I find having a couple of teenagers in the house helps in most technical situations, they're bugger all use for much else though
