Arthur's interior re-trim

Discussion in 'Show Us Your Ride' started by yorkshirecampers, Nov 1, 2011.

  1. Picked my boy up from the trimmers on Friday, just in time for Dubs in't Dales and his wedding chaffeur duty later this week. We were really on a tight timescale and my garage (Richard at VW Restorations in Halifax - just brilliant) turned him around in just 8 days.

Promptly drove into a barrier in a car park, so now the inside is done, it's back to the outside...sigh

Anyway, here he is - it has made such a difference. He's a lot lighter and brighter inside and is a far more cheery van to be in. It wasn't cheap, but they've done a great job and also did some extra bits too which was sweet of them - like fix the splines on my window handles, fit new winders and door straps, replace the door lock and fix the rear hatch lock amongst others.

We had the front and rear headlining replaced along with the sun visors. Trimmed the bed, buddy seat and all cards with 2 tone vinyl (ice blue and white)

    The Before Shots
The r&r bed and buddy seat were obviously fairly recent, but they were a dull grey cloth and didn't match the front seats. The door cards were either painted mdf or covered in carpet, and as for our nissan almera seat swap...

  2. That looks lovely

  3. Thanks - am so chuffed with him. It's honestly like having a different bus.

No pic of the broken sink - the safety glass did its job and it all broke nicely into the sink so just got cleaned straight back out. And I found a glass place today that think they can help - happy days!

You braking that got me thinking what the proper way of climbing up top?
When my bus was on the road my eldest always used to stand on the sink edge to get into bed

  10. Excellent job mate, our bus's colour is very similar to yours, we intend to totally refit the interior next year after the summer, we will continue with the baby blue and white, I have already purchased a couple of saab front seats which I will get re-upholstered, been looking at SJS camper interior website, I like the look of their interiors, anyways great job, looks the biz !

Not sure our Arthur will be worthy to park next to your Arthur next year...
