ARGHHH! can i have a rant??

  1. have just been round to ask neighbour to pull his convertible astra forward as i couldn't get the beetle out this morning so had to go in the camper to work.

He does this a lot as he likes to park his pride and joy outside his window (terraces) but as i'm next door my bug or camper often encroach a little onto his part of the road (he thinks he owns it!!) and so when he gets home he parks as close to my bumper as possible to make a point.

the gap he leaves is so small that i can't get through it and i'm quite small.

so, tonight i knocked on and asked him if he could pull his car forward as i couldn't get out this morning. he moaned that he liked to park in front so he can keep an eye on his car, i pointed out that none of us are entitled to do that and it's 'first up, best dressed' and also that he does it all the time to the camper. "but it never moves" he said to which i had to reply, "because i can never get it out" :D

i tried to make light by saying how i didn't have power steering etc but frankly he is a [insert disallowed rude word here]!

he did move it forward and then went in his house mumbling and grumbling. i know that he wouldn't do this if i was a big bloke (he's a little fella on steroids by the looks of it) and i have asked nicely and tried to make light of it but he's clearly not impressed and now i worry that he'll do something to my dubs :(

i've lived here ten year and never had any problems until now. we all try to park so that everyone can park near to their house but he is trying to make a point and it's not fair to expect others to leave enough room behind me because he's been a [insert even RUDER word here].

    arrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'd just make a note of what happened in your diary, just in case he does do something..

  4. i'm going to start taking photos of the proximity he parks to me. when i needed a jump start on the camper i couldn't even get in to open the engine lid.

we all have to pay to park on the street but that doesn't entitle anyone to a space. hated having to say something but it is getting ridiculous now. i don't mind confronting someone but i knew he would be childish - clear from his behaviour so far.

don't want to get into 'my mates are bigger than yours' but this morning i felt like it!

Just push it out the way with your camper, drive off, polish his paint off your bumper and deny all knowledge / offer sympathy. :)

Glad I don't have to park on the road...

So this fella drives a lady car and thinks its the bees knees what a prick.

You say you have to pay for parking on your road, are there marked bays or just park it where theres a space if so can you not park in the spot he likes to ******* him off.

  13. I would play him at his own game. Put a cheap camera up pointing at your motor(s). Then park one either side of his.

As long as you are not blocking access he will have to ask you to move and should then get the message.

  14. Convertible Astra..................is he a hairdresser??? O0

Inconsiderate parking to car vandalism is a bit of a big step.
I doubt he'll touch your cars.

  16. we have a simular problem here one of my new neighbours has built a entrance gate in such a way she has to park three cars across it ,unfortually it is outside someones house ,where they usually park their car and I can understand their point of view ,the new neighbour has a big garden where she can park all the cars but she says "I am not having cars in the garden while we are having dinner outside"

Fortually me fleet are all in the garden...

Ermintrude swap the bug for a smart car... ;D

  17. I hate neighbours. My wife wants to move to a place where we won't have this trouble. We have a guy a few doors down who is a bit of a knob. We live above a shop and the side roads can get quite full. If I can't park in the side roads I have to park on the tiled bit by the shop window. Problem is he does the same, blocks our gate (also our fire exit) and I can't park anywhere. Can't wait to move!

  18. Just wait until he goes out and then park the bus in "his" space.
When he complains about it just say that it's taxed etc so you can park wherever and if you feel brave tell him you parked it there so he can keep an eye on it as you don't trust one of the neighbours and you think it might get vandalised

  19. I'd do the opposite, say good morning and smile at him at every opportunity so he knows that he has not p****d you off and you do not hold any grudges. Hopefully he will realise that he is the one with a problem and things wont escalate, some times you need to be thick skinned
