Whilst sitting at my laptop i caught a glimpse of a programme on TV about hoarders, so how many of us can hold their hands up?? i will, any one else?? and could you live without your hoard??
My wife says i am but i disagree Ive four car batteries ive carted along with us during the last 3 house moves she told me to chuck The daily drive dropped a cell last week so i swapped it for one of the spares Saving of over £50 and still got her to work on time lol
Yep , I hoard a bit but as Para says these things come in useful. Not to the extent of the people on hoarders though
ahh my eldest was watching that vampire diarys thing and now its britains got talent or some such thing The hoarding mentality is a thing thats of interest to me as ive met my fair share over the years As far as i can tell there are two types of hoarders One type who organise and sort things that may be of use one day and put effort into securing and maintining the usefullness of the hoard And those who seem to not be able to let anything go even if its made unuesfull by stashing it away One seems to be methodical and logical and one seems to be the result of mental trauma Thats just my observations and opinion mind
I Tend to fill gaps and draws and spaces with stuff just in case lol. Do you still have old clothes ,toys , etc etc?? Probably could fill a Juggernaut )
I hung half a front arch in the roof of the shed the other day as it could be usable to repair another one day. Does that count? If so "Yes im a hoarder" The wife will say yes cause we have got 2 bus interiors and a full set of window rubbers in our bedroom But no not to the extent of that programme. Why do people like that always have cats that marmite every where?
Hang on, the interior and seals in the bedroom are neccesities, however, not sure the garage and shed full of bits that "might" come in handy one day count as necessities - that is just hoarding! Still at least there aint none of that marmite you keep mentioning! Signed The Mrs.
I do hoard some things but not to the extent of these people. Last weeks was hysterical. A chap couldn't throw stuff away. Had his cat pooping in boxes and the whole place was a mess. But when he became a she, she was able to throw things out. In the end after a throw out his home looked really nice.
For starters i have about 12 scalextric sets and circa 2000+ cars but i call it a collection not hoarding then i have.... So yea i think im a bit of a hoarder . Opps i mean collector and a few people on here have seen the inside of my sheds !
I've got lots of stuff that's kind of on standby, it'll be useful someday, etc. But I know a bona fide full on hoarder and it's scary. A whole bunch of us bought some clear felled woodland in Wales to restore and he moved in on site with a static. Now the lane to the land is full of useless vehicles, trailers, scrap tractor. There's holes dug into the hillside with a now broken digger that are used to store junk. Like hundreds of 5 gallon drums. Boxes of tools that have been left in the rain, rusty old junk. And and and We've all tried to get him to get rid of the rubbish, now the council think it's an attempt to set up a travellers site and has issued proceedings. It's just one guy staying on the land! Rest of the valley is beautiful, 10 years of planting is starting to look really lush! S
the mil had to have her loft turned into a libary ,she collects all the tv series videos/dvds all the free news paper ones, she has a place in Spain and had to build a big shed on the roof [for storage] ,she is a hoarder.. The more room you have the more you will hoard... >
