Are prototype bay bumpers straightforward to fit?

  1. What exactly would be involved in fitting prototype bay bumpers to my late bay.

Presumably I would need some bumpers for a start!

  2. You can fit early lookalike bumbers,,,,jk sells them

  3. rickyrooo1

rickyrooo1 Hanging round like a bad smell

you mean the brazillain ones? i don't think they sell them anymore.

  4. Josh from JK has said in a previous thread if there was enough interest they would be able to get them, I like them too!

  5. If you want to fit true early bumpers to a late bay, its not that straight forward as the mountings are different and they use different bumper irons

brazillian bumpers are similar in look and should bolt on with not much work as other have said

I have seen some that have done it leaving the defformation panel on, but for a propper fit you would need to cut off the defformation pannel (bit that sticks out where your front bumpers currently are) weld on a new lower front panel, weld in captive nuts or other mounting arrangements, get new bumper irons. The rear isnt quite as much work as the front but you may need to weld mew captive nuts into the chassis at the rear

.........but its not impossible to do!

  6. Why not buy a real van with them fitted at the [glow=red,2,300]FACT[/glow]ory. >:D ^-^
