  1. There’s many of them about.

On meeting one I tend to glaze over, fart in their general direction, and walk
    away.

He might have once been involved with cattle back in New Zealand, but moving on from farming but keeping good business sense seems to have worked.
His father used to buy up second-rate cattle at knock down prices then feed them up to make a good profit .

One of the great things about writing software is that if I were to find the cafe to be a quiet enough place I could work from there.
I choose to use my VW bus as the base because it has cheaper coffee and no other distracting customers.
I hope to do some more driving off to a location with reasonable mobile coverage and parking up for the day and running off the leisure battery next year - our office location is not really big enough for the 40% staff increase over the last year to all be in work at the same time.

Over the last couple of years I've gone from being a white collar worker to a black t-shirt & jeans worker. We now only go into the office one day per fortnight (covid allowing). Most days over the summer I didn't even put socks on.

The joys of being a software engineer. It doesn't matter where my laptop is

I was a mark layer for some yacht racing . Belting around to an exact position somewhere in the Solent and dropping an anchor attached to a buoy, then recovering it a few hours later.

I was recently phoned up by a recruiter offering me a job where I only had to go into work 2 days a week. I replied that in the last year I had gone into work for less than 10 days in total, so I was not interested.

Just now, we had a power cut so the heating went off, but the inverter in the camper van kept most of the rest of the IT kit running.

A company I used to subcontract to had a new painting company start work on 30 new homes in Blackburn. They were rubbish and put the job in delay.
His LinkedIn post gushed about another superb job completed on time with a very happy client

I can wholeheartedly (and "professionally") recommend an ergonomic mouse of the type that means your wrist rests nearer to the "thumbs up" position than with a standard one.
(It puts the two bones in your forearm in "neutral" and the film between them relaxes, taking pressure of the nerves etc that perforate it)

  15. For this reason I use the Logitech Ergo MX trackball, which reminds me, I've 3D printed a wedge which rotates it even further, that I still haven't got around to attaching.

  16. I've been in the wood for two weeks chopping wood, it's quite delightful..

Not chopping limbs off has been a bonus
