I did some trucking when i was in Oz and NZ it was the best treated ive been in any job - wasnt on those big bucks though! always wanted to go back for good, but the time has never been right, this might just persuade my missus! I love it there
We just watched it. Spent 3 months in Oz last winter (2011/12) and would love to go back (and maybe even live there), but neither of us have the sorts of skills they're looking for, so we'll only ever be visitors
We have some standards you know Driving the big dump trucks in the mines up north is becoming a female dominated part of the industry. Apparently the girls are gentler on the trucks & more careful. A friends gf went of to do it, starting salary $150k + food & lodging on a flying/fly out basis. She's planning on doing 3 - 4 years then come back & resume her career as a graphic artist.
