I have been inside an ex-BBC prop Dalek- somebody at school had one, his father was connected to the BBC somehow, and so he had to be Doctor Who in really bad what we would now call fan-fiction plays. . .

They use to have Two real Dalek at Butlins mine head in the early 70’s. You could get in them and put 5p in and drive them around. Couldn’t go too far in them as there were massive electric cables all over the floor from them.
