Anyone remember Early Closing Day?

Back then you would go to school the next day and everyone could talk about the same shows.

I remember years ago that it was taboo to have a bonfire on a Monday
Traditionally washing day

 

In parts of Luton now it's barely taboo to use someone's washing as a bonfire! How times have changed.

 

Do folk still bring back souvenir castanets from holidays in Spain? I want some now.

If your Switzerland bound and want booze you will have to go a shop selling it ,as the supermarkets don't.shops in Zurich and Bern are mostly shut Sundays .Also drinking is so expensive you would be hard pushed to find anyone staggering about on the streets.
