  1. Currently stripping out Binky ready for new interior. We've known this curious hole was there when we bought her but we have no idea why! Is it there for a reason? Should we seal it?

  2. That's a hole that's been made to access the fuel sender, quite common

  3. ^^^WHS though it looks a bit of a mess! They can be made a lot neater:rolleyes:

  4. Thanks! Should we leave it open then ?

  5. I would - you might as well keep it as Sod's Law states you will need a new sender about 2 weeks after welding it up:D

  6. I used mastic and rivits to seal mine, easy enough to undo if I need to

  7. Great. Thanks guys. Sods law indeed @philntfc!

  8. ^ as above. That is a truly magnificent piece of bodgery :)

  9. Yes ....access to the sender is a godsend, but having a rough arsed hole in your bus isn't.....the least I'd do is tidy up the edges....if it were mine, I'd extend the edges of the 'lid', hold down with self tappers/pop rivets whatever....changing the sender isn't something you do every month

  10. It's such a shame cos the rest of the bodywork is in such good nick! Doh!

  11. you may be glad of it one day....even if it does look like it's been done by James Galway using a blunt tin opener:thumbsup:

Looks like it's already had some sealant around it in the past....nobody sees it when the interior is in......

but if we see you at a show, we''ll make a point of reminding you about it:D;)

Plus your bus is Green.....so you've a head start over everybody else in the cool stakes:cool:

  15. Looks like whoever cut that hole, used a tin opener.

Was that bus at Fellowes Speed Shop recently? There was a green Westy exactly like that with a hole like that there in January.

It’s not exactly a neat job but is it in the right place?

  18. Cluckin Bell - though mine was rough but thats appauling. someone did this to mine but had the decency to fix an ally plate over the hole which is ok! When I took it off they had chain drilled it to form the hole. I havent filed it back as dont want loads of filings in there. That needs tidying up big stylee!

  19. looks like they used an axe....

  20. I know! Pretty shoddy! Glad it'll be covered up with carpet and a new bed in a couple of weeks! ;)
