Anyone got a Propex HS2000E (thats 'E')?

  1. Saw this on the propex site http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/heaters/hs2000e

'The Propex HS2000E heater is an automatic thermostatically controlled blown air heating system fuelled by propane/ butane gas or 230V mains electric.'

Anyone got one and used it on electric?

I thought about one of these but the cost is crazy - you can get very good electric heaters from Argos for £20. We've got the standard Propex HS2000 with Argos heater (which has a thermostat and safety cut off)

The cost simply makes it unaffordable :(

    You thinking of getting one?

  3. I'm looking but at nearly £200 extra I just can't see the justification.

That why I wonder if anyone has bought one.

  4. An oil filled rad is silent in operation. Even though people say the propex are quiet the fan noise is audible.

My vote is for an argos mini rad

  5. I have one but only because I got it at the same price as a gas only one.
It works the same as the gas one, no issues.
Unless you can get one cheap I'd go for the argos jobbie too.

  6. As above, get the gas hs2000 and a small oil filled rad.

  7. I've got one ,they cost £525 ,thats whats on my bill from Vanwurks ,on electric there are 3 settings and heat given out is amazing (2KW!!) ,I can now finally get rid of the stupid bar heater that keeps me awke at night, if you put it on the first setting its only .5KW and really quite.
