Totally the same as me ...totally caned it over Christmas...thought I'd give the body a rest but I keep reading that its not a good idea.... I'm starting to think that they may be right .. As I said above I hope it aids some weight loss efforts as well. This time last year I started doing the 'blood sugar diet' I've never really got into this fad diet thing - I've always been overweight , but I lost a stone a month over jan, Feb and march ( put two of them back on since mind) I'm hoping to better that this year and a dry January can only help... I do miss my grog though
What to stop drinking or to binge drink. I think it depends on the source of your advice, they all contradict each other and most have a vested interest, whether its the drinks suppliers themselves or the health/addiction associations. The thing is to do what feels right for yourself, I do worry about the health implications of drinking too much, I know I drink a lot more than my dad ever drank. I need to lose weight as well.
I think we both sing from the same hymn sheet here.. One of my bosses is doing the dry January as he too likes a tipple on his Thursday night pool session and at the weekends... We were having a laugh in the office yesterday about not drinking and someone piped up about not understanding why we miss a drink and we must have a drink.problem We both said...because we enjoy it , we enjoy the taste of wine and beer and we enjoy the effects of the alcohol... Simple.. Ironically the comment came from a bloke that has never smoked but has taken to vaping in the last 12.months and goes outside for his 'fix' every 20 minutes...
I'm still hanging in there. I did have 2 bottles of 0% beer last night to make it feel like the weekend... Strangely, I have a stonking headache this morning! Think I will see if I can keep it going for a couple of months this year.
Four and a half years for me - drank enough in my first 30 years of adult life to last me what's left.
All in moderation I say. So long as its no more than 10 pints (40 if its Carling) or no more that a bottle of whiskey, then there's no problem
I`m reluctantly joining the abstainers ... Put mi back out and the painkillers , they say no Being quite farmiliar with aforementioned drugs usually i`d have a cheeky pint or two but decided to give it a miss this time as my lower back feels like it`s well past its best and trying to inflict as much hurty-ness as possible . Can hardly walk and leaving the flat is impossible at the moment ...
Cheers. The beer wasn't awful, certainly drinkable. Can't remember what it was called now.. something German I have heard the Brewdog beers are OK, so may try that next time
For me it is an underlying problem - I’ve got high blood pressure which was at 204/117 & under doctors monitoring. Got to get sorted for the better!
A mate of mine was a massive unit. His diet was baaad and he drank a lot. Eventually became diabetic. He decided diabetes wasn’t for him and asked how he could reverse it. They told him but commented no-one ever succeeded because it meant a whole scale change in life style. He’s now like a new man. Lost shed loads of weight, barely drinks, and is free of diabetes.
As well as the obvious need to lose weight , one of my concerns was diabetes , my dad is overweight and he has it , the diet I'm doing is designed to not only help you lose weight but if you are or bordering diabetic - it has been proven to bring you down to a normal level.. I'm not sure what type of diabetes without checking the book... I know when I lost the three stone this way last year, not only did I physically look better ( some may argue ) but felt miles better....not fit by any way shape or form but knees and back ached considerably less, I felt less tired in the afternoon... As the weight crept back up again so did the aches and pains etc ...this year I aim to lose the weight again and try and find some sort of exercise that I like to try and keep it off .. Well...that's the plan anyway
