I don't do campsites, but for larger cities like Madrid, I am willing to pay just for the sake of security. A basic search of Madrid campsites gives a lot of useless information like how clean are the toilets and how close the caravans are spaced out. What I can't find is how well connected they are with public transport and their proximity to the town center for daily visits there and back. The camp's only purpose is to keep the bus safe. Anyone do Madrid in the bus without having to take an hour train ride to town every morning? Thanks
Hi Sven, you may have been already? I've only just seen this. We stayed at Camping Osuna about 8 years ago. It wasn't very picturesque but was secure and it was easy for us to get a train into Madrid centre.
