Going camping near Ashbourne tomorrow instead of our planned France trip. Anybody been to bank top farm in fenny Bentley. Anything fun to do round there with 2 noisy young girls?

  2. In Fanny Bentley with two noisy girls, Sir?

Tissington Trail is right on your doorstep if they like cycling. Chatsworth is not far away - the farm and playground is great - you have to book at the moment. @Faust is nearby too ;)

Good outside seating arrangements at the local pub which is literally opposite the entrance to the campsite The Bentley brook Hotel .
Countless walks in the Peak District Also Carsington Reservoir is quite good for kids .

Excellent, cheers buddy. A bit last minute and I’ve not been up that way for years. Lots of biking and walking I think.

  6. Yes, I've been.
The TTOC AGM was held there back in '98 or '99.
It remains the dullest weekend I have ever spent in my van.
The weather was very good and I met lots of... People.

Heights of Abraham, Cromford Mill, Gulliver's Kingdom, Matlock Farm Park, Crich Tramway Museum. If you go to Chatsworth, park at Baslow and walk to the house and gardens and up to the Hunting Tower rather than park at the house.

    :) Consider my wrist slapped!

Don't know if they still do it but drivers of pre-79 (I think) vehicles had free entry and could park inside. Might be worth seeing if that's the case at the moment.
