Any tips for selling entire Westy interior?

  1. Hi folks,

Our beloved Bobby is getting a complete internal makeover. Hopefully in time for the new season of family trips... Next trip planned for May in 2015.

Step 1 is getting rid of all the current internal furniture and fittings. It's all original 1979 Berlin Westy T2.

Does anyone have any experience and/or advice on the set way to go about this?

Ideally I'd like someone who's into original fixtures/fittings to buy the lot and come and remove it themselves!

Any idea what price I should expect for it? It's all in very good condition for the age apart from the sink top.

    Many thanks,
    YDD

  2. All I would say is, most people have a price in mind. Whether it is the right price only time will tell !! :)

Pop it in the for sale section with good photos with a realistic price. If it is too expensive you will just be stuck with it. ;)

  3. Put up an ad to sell it as a whole interior, but be willing to split it and also to post it. Be realistic on price tbh. Put an ad up with pics and a price(forum rules) but be willing to take ono

You'll get more by removing it yourself.
If I had to spend half a day removing it I'd be looking at reducing the price accordingly.

Whereas i'd rather remove it myself to see it was all there, nothing got lost and how it was fitted.

It would be very easy to deliver if it was still fitted as well. Once you take it out you'll need a lot more space to safely transport it.

    In an ideal world maybe.
We all know that every interior for sale thread on here ends up with everything getting split up and posted, and loads of people just wanting a handle or some hinges.

Personally, I'd remove it and bung it on eBay.

Cheers rickyroo1, i have so much to learn ,

mines a right hand so no good for me unfortunately , i am in the reverse opinion of OP , i don't fancy a nice new set of units, some good conditioned old ones is what i fancy , but it don't do for us all to be the same .

though i don't fancy new, i don't suppose many complete old ones come up for sale .?

  13. If it's any help, I sold my Westy Berlin interior for around £420ish about 18 months ago. It was in reasonable condition for the age and I was happy with what I got. You'll probably get more by splitting it and putting it on fleabay, but depends what price you're happy with and how soon you want shot of it.

  14. A reasonably complete Westy berlin interior sold on eBay a few months back for 800. lots of bids.. I used that as a guide to price mine, and although I've had a lot of interest its not actually sold yet :)

I'm hoping it's just bad timing being Xmas etc.. so I'll leave it up for sale on here for now. If it's still around in a couple of months it'll be going on ebay. Question is, will I get more selling together or if I split... Hmmm.

  15. Keep it all together and put it on ebay with a reserve price to what you think its worth. If it gets close to that price you can let it sell at that price.
On my many years of shopping for parts on ebay a good original 1979 Berlin Westfalia interior sells from £500-£1000 on a great day.
Spring time is when people recover from Christmas and the sun comes out and people start thinking holidays lol. This is the time you will get
more interest. Just my opinion  Post as many pictures as possible with detail.

  16. Thanks for all the advice. Love this forum. I'll get something posted up in the sale section with lots of pics in the coming days. Still need to get all the gear out from last camping trip so I can get some good photos...
