I usually do Mid Wales Barmouth/Aberystwyth etc but this weekend i'm gonna try North Wales, anyone recommend anywhere decent? Ta.
Not a big fan of that part of the coastline If you go round a bit further to Rhos on Sea (near llandudno) theres a really nice site we stay on plus its cheap and near Conway http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=5551
cheers dave, i'll look later, the only reason i'm going that way is for a change i usually go Aber Llangollen Barmouth etc but thought i'd go up and across back the other way, i might even pop to Rhyl i've not been there for 20? years.....
i had heard that, i'm thinking colwyn bay/conwy fri night then prestatyn sat - probably the haven site as i liked that when i stopped there about 5 year ago, i toyed with greenacres/black rock sands in porthmadog but i been there loads although not yet in the van.
The great orme is a large rock /small mountain that dominates llandudno you can drive to the top via a toll road or you can go up by cable car or tram , there is a large car park at the top which is free and the views to take your breath awayhttp://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=mcafee&va=the+great+orme http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=mcafee&va=the+great+orme

Rhos on Sea campsites lovely rick plus your only round the corner from Llandudno - better than Rhyl ,and Conway ,castle and great fish and chips
I would stick to Conwy, Llandudno and Rhos on sea , Rhyl is a hole and there a few campsites around Prestatyn but none that I have stayed at Talacre beach is a lovely spot to visit and the Travellers Inn on the a55 is on the list that allows pub stop overs plus the son of the owner is a Beetle owner and has had North Wales VW club meets at the location
This is one that I was hoping to check out this summer http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6089
http://www.gwynant.com/ I can recommend this campsite I stayed here in April and walk up snowdon from the camp well worth doing and the camp site is nice and clean too and wasn't a bad price and let me know next time you come to aber so I can have a nose at your van because I've seen it on the see front in aber!
