right my question is, how best or correct way is it to put a wood burning flue though a corrugated roof ? I have found a rubber boot/flashing which looks to bolt to roof on eBay searching with Google. I'm hoping to not build a chimney so the flue passing though the bedroom will also heat bedroom but if I have to use the twin wall flue will this still give some warmth ?

  2. i have a bum crack does that qualify :D id get a proper proform cravat n upstand if it were me , rubber dont sound to good? it should be fire clad through bedroom too , but your in france soooooo??:D

I thought you'd have to post this request in Polish, isn't that where all your builders come from these days? o_O

  6. Like what barney said , rubber on your flue aint goin to last long and may even get very hot , thats not good ,, if your flue cools in its lenght then you will get condensation which will A, rot the flue causing it to leak and B , run down into the fire .Use twin wall with the proper roof terminal

  7. @Keith.H is a good builder.
I'm sure he'll be along soon because like all good builders he does a 5 hour day (inc tea breaks) and works 3-4 days a week (when busy). ;)

Personally, I wouldn't run a flue through a cravat. It'll ruin the material.

Seriously . you want a class A liner if not using a steel flue, when you go through the roof / ceiling you need to use a bigger liner to run the class A through. you need to clamp and flash the outside against water ingress and clamp the inside pipe against movement.

    Something like this but better,

  17. we used to use dektites but if extreme weather n temp changes n not being fitted correctly they are parp you need a weather sheet if its corrugated that tucks under next sheet with upstand built in to it then fit cravat over upstand with pipe onto bottom and pipe n cowl on top or your asking for trubs realy especially on residential house . Sealant is ok but not 100% as with all stuff and thats what you stick them dektites on with .

Looks like we're back to stuff it through the roof and cement round it.
