any one with green fingers..not noses.!

  1. well its bit chilly for it all... :(
    but is there anything i should be getting planted yet,
    i have a veg patch,
    and an unheated greenhouse. with a heated frame inside
    i want to grow some french beans potatoes in bags or tubs,

    should i consider any growing or wait patiently... o_O

    it is still a bit chilly but its late too so i am at a loss - i want to get out there but ?
     
  4. I'm not at all green fingerd but run the school gardening club, we've done nought yet due to the weather. Such a shame when we go back tidy up start planting it will be the summer hols and no one around to look after it.
     
  5. Same as TW - I've got spuds chitting - supposed to plant them out late March. Think they'll be waiting a while yet! I like growing veg but really haven't thought about it much yet cos of the cold :(
     
  6. same here. reckon anything out now will just rot in the ground if you can get through it. :(
     
  7. been told this on.. a n other forum....:eek:

    Spuds should be in by now... if you bury them about 4 inches on a bed of well rotted manure that should keep the frost off them.

    Tomatoes and chillies should be planted already in pots on the windowsill or in a heated propogator. It's edging on being too late for both.

  8. I`ve been planting like mad ,your time will come folks be patient ....:thumbsup:

    if new shoots of spuds is exposed to the frost they will die but they will come again [hopefully]...
     
  9. i wll be havin an hour in the greenhouse this weekend ..

    if it gets a bit of sun to warm it..:)
