  3. 37 years on the tools that's me .if your going to teach you need to have praise for every one .on different levels of course ,everyone likes to be told there doing well

  4. If their wanting to see a lesson plan you will need to use the teachy buzz words like inclusivity and diversification. I lost my plumbing ones when our lappy crashed. But i have got a template and some that chippy mate gave me, your more than welcome to them. Just PM me

Cheers folks, hopefully I will be their best practical plumber and that will win the day! Going to have to swot up on my UK fittings tho! Not sure about my dreads either, tho am booked in at the hair dresser tomorrow so at least they will be tidy dreads! :)

pranghams I am about to pm you :)

  6. inclusive practice - if you're using any handouts or reading materials ensure that they are dyslexia friendly.
checking understanding and supportive practice - when learners are on task go round each one to check they're ok, if they say "yes" get them to tell you what it is they are doing and what they'll be doing next in case they are fibbing/too embarrassed to say. :)

when they ask you to do your micro teaching as them if there are any learners with learning difficulties or additional support needs in the session. chances are there won't be but it'll show that you consider this before teaching a group. If you get asked in interview about this you need to talk about initial/diagnostic assessments and learning styles - once you have a profile of your learners needs and preferred learning styles it makes planning a whole lot easier!

emphasise importance of health & safety (i'm sure you will) and 'employability skills' is new buzz phrase. get hold of institutions mission statement and say in your session plan when you hit one of their statements keystones (they like that stuff!).

brain frazzled but f i can think of anything else or if you want any advice (i'm not a plumber but am a lecturer), let me know :)

    and.....

    GOOD LUCK!!! :D :D
