Hello, In the lounge we HAD a dimmer switch on the lights ... there are 3 uplighters and earlier on today i went to take a a dead bulb - whilst the lights were on ,,, silly i know. Anyway - this made the lights blow - fuse went etc ... I then flicked the switch back up and replaced the dead blub ... Lights now work - however - they do not dim ... the dimmer switch has no dimming abilities... So my question is - when the bulb blew - could it have done something to the light switch - or has the ability to DIM gone from else where/?? Any thoughts are welcome .....
yeah there's resistors in the dimmer you've blown them, you shouldn't use floresent energy bulbs with dimmers as well in case you didn't know.
You can get dimmers for energy bulbs but you have to get the right energy bulbs to match Sounds like the filament shorted when you moved the bulb Some dimmers have a small fuse on the back that's worth checking if not a new switch
