im off to see Neil Young on the 11th and looking to book a room and stay the night with a couple of friends. They're driving over from iow and I'm considering driving down as forgot to book train and tkts silly prices.

I've looked on a parking site and cheapo ones are 6 hrs max stay. I'm going to ring O2 later as can't work out if their prices are a calendar day or 24 hrs. Somewhat expensive tho.

    Any pointers gratefully received :)

  3. Last time we were in central london we parked at a tube station at the end of the line and got the tube to the centre. Parking is cheap at the weekend. You could park at epping (Saturday £2 Sunday £1.50) and tube to hotel or O2. From epping you change at stratford onto jubilee line. Should take about 40 mins

As you'll probably end up using the tube anyway the cost is pretty cheap :)

  5. Saw U2 at the O2, booked parking at the venue - Numberplate recognition was great - turned up, barrier rose & a sign illuminated that said,
'Hi Bernard & welcome to the O2'. That's worth thirty quid* of anyone's money. Would recommend for simplicity & ease of use.

    * or whatever it was & we didn't have to leave early to catch the last tube.

I thought about it too late and expensive from Sheffield.

  8. If we go to thta London these days we drive to Stratford and park in the Westfield carparks and tube it from there.

24 hours in that carpark is £9.60

  9. Camp at Abbey Wood campsite. Then it's 10 mins on the train to Charlton and then a 15 min walk to the O2! (Or a 3 mins bus ride)

  10. Also, at weekends you can park around Christchurch way. Bit of a walk mind!

When we go to London we always stay at Travelodge East India Docklands. ..we have always been going into town but they have a big board up with I information on how to get to O2, so must be used a lot for people going to the O2.
They do a great buffet breakfast and parking is £5 a day.
