Today Katie and I are at an ante natal class. So far this morning I've been leaning about the stages of labour and pain relief ( or lack of it ). Coming up after Lunch is early days and feeding.... The ladies running the day sure do like to talk -- a lot!
Haha - yeah lunch break. The main midwife talks for England and told me off for leaving a cup on a desk
Dont forget to breath , you would be supprised that you forget about that when you get busy with everything else http://ts1.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=4900399348974268&id=2ef8527dfcc8b31bcd3e89efd56bab42
I'm so out of date on this stuff: Do they still do the mandatory vitamin K jab? Only 1 in 10000 babies have a vitamin K deficiency, we had it it written up not to administer. Got a good pair of pliers, (them cords are tough!) I was about to go into placenta expulsion but that's probably sorted these days ;-) i was blown away by the birth and i read the manual! Just amazing (gone all nostalgic now..) Cheers s
Missed out on the ante natal classes as Donnips was to posh to push. Actually it was due to her pelvis being to small. Short arse so she is. I hope it all went well Marowak. How far along is Katie now?
Your only duty is to be present at the birth, shaking your head like the removals man... "You'll never get that through there, love. Not without taking them doors off..."
Never been pregnant myself (funnily enough) I can only but imagine what it's like to carry all that weight and, as said, an internal water bottle. I hope she isn't suffering too much, here's to a quick and pleasant birth. Not the 26hr one my lovely other half went through.
The hardest thing about the current pregnancy is Katie has SPD ... Symphysis pubis dysfunction Basically - her insides are being ripped apart and she is in a lot of pain ... 9 weeks or so to go and I think we are both at the stage where we just want the baby to pop out ...
