Hi, This was tangled into my dash but unraveling it I find nothing is connected. Blue, 2 reds so sharing load and black. All grouped in a black sheath that disappears behind fuse box. Could anyone shed some light on it, I've looked at the Bentley but I can't figure it. Small terminals on the black and red made me think warning bulbs possibly? Thanks in advance, Pg
Thanks snotty, just did that and the wires run behind it... which has thrown me a bit because they aren't tiny little wires so must have a home. The tiny ones must be for a lamp and larger are doubled up to carry extra current but it's not my heated rear .
Don't think radio, it has two small terminals for a (possible) light. I'm exploring dual circuit brake light
Just found out they are brake warning light wires, time to figure how they wire up or even if they are connected.
No, not in three bus. I've got one on my 1302 bug so I know what it should look like but not in the bus. Are those 3 lines all I would need red and black and blue. ? I keep finding 5 pin?
Sorry what I meant to say was are they all I need to connect to a brake warning lamp i.e do all bus have 3 wires ?
Isnt there something like the EGR/ Cat warning light on some USA buses.. a timer based on engine runtime. the colours say blue =alternator light aka engine running, black=ignition and red=permanent 12 volt. If you havent already found it ..diagrams by year ... https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt2.php
You know what Mike that could be as well, I have the EGR box but thought I'd set that as a service reminder (EGR long since gone I'm Subaru now) I'll have to check later, I don't recall disconnecting either but the wire is there. Thanks !
