Just had to get a new bulb for Wombat. Halogen H4 60/55W. So I just got Halford's own cheapest one.
I was looking at the ones that claim increased light - 120% more, but come in at £25 each. Ae they worth the extra - bit of a sceptic me

nah, your wiring is old and long... waste of cash, decent headlights if you haven't got them hella h4 or suchlike is as good as it gets.

i've got a shed full of bulbs from my lucas days including 100/80 watt and all seasons gold glow and blue ones as well, the blue ones are good i'm running them at the moment. (kind of like the bmw/posh car colour.)

If your reflectors are in good condition, with std halogen lights they will be as bright as a car. They're just lights! Nothing special about camper lights to make them dim other than the reflectors possibly being old and faded.
