This was in yesterday's Telegraph in Honest John's column:

Q Last November I delivered my Volkswagen 1303 to a specialist for restoration. By the end of May, the bodywork was complete and I had paid £21,610. Since then, work on routine mechanical jobs has slowed. I am told by the company this is because classic VWs need much more work to get through an MoT. Having paid out the equivalent price of a new car, I feel the job should be finished promptly.

A You’ve spent £21,610 for incomplete restoration of a VW Beetle that might then be worth £10,000? That demands some very searching questions. If they cannot be answered satisfactorily, you will have to involve a solicitor.
