Plenty of rain this side of the globe Up north has had about 1,500mm over a 3 day period. Others received 500mm in a couple of hours This is the Lismore McDonalds
The Golden Arches haven't had the memo about Russia either. Shame on them https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-russia-mcdonalds-pepsico-boycotts/
We’re just going to borrow the Sun for six months or so, if you don’t mind. Just until after September techenders, should be okay. You are most welcome to the rain.
Dragging this back up. The east coast is up more more rain for the next week. There was a video on a Govt Rescue type site but I couldn’t work out how to link. But finally found the video of the floods. It is in quick time. Well, each seen is like 24hrs so not that quick when you see how far it comes up and down.
Still raining here in Sydney https://amp.abc.net.au/article/101378840 Just passed 2,000 mm for the year. Up Lismore way where the early flooding was is way more tropical and normally gets rain. But Sydney is a lot more moderate. Only ever done that 4 times before - but we are only 2/3’s the way through the year
i have a plan to save the planet..... lets drill a hole, all the way through the earth to Oz land, and put a plug in each end. When Oz is flooded, they could pull their plug, and drain the water over to our drought, killing two birds with one stone. Six months later, we return the favour, and put all their fires out with our flood water. Does anyone know Elon Musks mobile number?
A friend who moved to Sydney from the UK said a problem was that the white settlers moved in when the weather in Australia was sensible and now its gone back to normal.
We are still getting the effects of La Nina here on the east coast of Australia. Central NSW is "normally" pretty dry and arid. Wyangala Dam is anout 300km due west of Sydney The Lachlan River "normally" meanders through the country side. Check the force in the video of the dam spill About 230,000 megalitres per day. Sydney Harbour holds about 562 megalitres https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw...ds-inundate-central-west-20221114-p5by42.html found a clip of just the dam spill https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/aust...er-sweeps-region-video-by-nsw-rfs/vi-AA144Dct
Jeeeeez Barry76, that’s almost inconceivable that amount of rain to get to that predicament and it’s still coming down. I’ve been amazed by how little of it we have heard of here in Pommy land , mostly we’ve just been hearing about what a cracking summer the UK has had this year. It’s November now and it’s still not that cold that you’d need more than a bit of a jacket on whereas ‘normally’ you’d need a jumper or two as well and probably a bobble hat and a pair of gloves for this part of the season. Are the radio stations still numbered as per state? I’m guessing they are. In Victoria they used to be 3AK, 3XY, 3KZ etc etc and NSW started with 2s. It sounds like the whole east coast is really copping it. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, words fail, when it’s this bad.
Yep NSW 2, Vic 3’s, Qld 4’s SA 6’s and WA 7’s The Lachlan’s flows into the Murrumbidgee and that into the Murray All comes out in Adelaide. just insane the amount of water
Dragged this up again, but, geez............it's just moving around. Now its over in the North West. Around the Kimberleys in Western Australia. Not much in the way of towns out that way. Normally just desert. The Fitzroy River is the main river out that way. At it's current flow rate - it is enough to fill Sydney Harbour in 2 1/2 hours. https://www.smh.com.au/national/flo...ars-of-perth-s-water-use-20230104-p5caev.html
