  1. Well I was proper *******ed off on Friday night after my one week old flywheel oil seal decided to leak big style. After some moping and lots of wine, plus some very positive vibes from some on here I decided to whip the engine out and sort it PDQ. The two times so far I have been ably aided by my Dad who lives circa 50 miles away and given he had helped me a week ago I didnt think he would be too keen. So....... I asked Tiegan my 11 year old daughter if she fancied a go and she was a real star. Loved every minute of it, soaked up lots of info on how everything works and was a great help.

The old seal pushed in with my fingers. The new one was a much tighter and better fit. I also remembered to replace the O ring and felt washer this time too so fingers crossed I will get a bit more life out of this one.

  5. If she gets the bug (pardon the pun) I have promised her a Beetle when she is 17. If you are going to have one of these old money pits you definitely need to know how to care for it or it will be ruinously expensive.

I think she had a lovely time so it bodes well.
