It's not about brushing it to one side Ricky, it'll never go to a members vote because as you know Pete (@hailfrank ) has made clear on more than one occasion that tlb is not going to have an adult section.
JK have a soapbox forum. Terrible idea - it just ended up a place where racists moaned about immigrants and yoghurt weavers did the opposite, both sides believing they were winding the others side up led to upping tyhe ante until the whole thing become rather pathetic. A disaster. The thing about the "kids will see it" aspect is that no kids EVER post on here. If there was avatars that, if you were under 16 had your age plastered on them, perhaps people would see there were kids looking at and using the forum and behave?
no offence meant or taken, it's just i've seen it all before, unless moderation is consistent you will only pick on the easy targets, i see posts most days that break the rules that are not offencive to me but are however not following rules, we all know some mods don't say anything to some people. Remember years ago i got made an example of for rule breaking? there was more fall out from the warning than good done, since then i've seen loads of posts worse than the telling off i got or tuesday got or baysearcher got that time.
I don't think it's about kids posting on here, but quite a few kids sit with their parents as they view things.
Maybe there should be a kids section, where the sons and daughters of camper owners could post and take the micky out of their sad camper obsessed parents and talk about what they like etc etc. That might bring it home that kids look at the site and be more inclusive.
you seem to be using my opinion as an example that i actually care anymore, i'll follow all the rules easily but i just know for fact the moderation will not be consistent and you will always get people breaking the rules, i'll bow out now then as it seems i'm getting drawn in to an argument i don't want.
Perhaps it should be? If it claims to be a family site surely there should be opportunity for all the family to contribute. See my post above.

I didn't read the war and peace rules email as I figure if I get banned (again), I get banned (again). It wasn't the end of the world last time and it won't be the end of the world next time. As others have said, consistency from moderators is key. Something that certainly doesn't exist on here from some of them.
Hard to be consistent as the Mods are all different with differing ages, sense of humour etc. however as @NewtoVW said at the beginning "Common decency , Respect for others , Be nice" and you should be ok.
^^^^ Exactly . Why pander to the folk who feel they have a right to dictate the rules to suit little Jeremy ?? I`m totally against a free for all and the mods do a difficult job pretty well but this is an adult forum - shame some one or two spoil the party by behaving like spoilt brats ...
unfortunately kids dont need to come on here to learn how to swear, spit, bite or other but they should be taught its not correct and where do you begin , the bbc does after nine but some are awake after or just watch eastenders . the rules are their , some break them knowingly some bend them . I like it here most of the time , no one is perfect .
It's that couple that always post pics of their bits that troubles me. I'm not even sure if they own aVolkswagen
