Alarms and Immobiolisers

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Sufjan, Jul 16, 2012.

  1. Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good alarm and immobiliser for a late bay? Also, if you have ideas of how much for fitting in North London, that'd be great too!

    Cheers,

    Anthony.

personally i think they are a waste of money, a friend of mine just had a hight end toad alarm fitted and it took me 2 seconds to bypass, old cars are too simple to make immobilisers effective and nobody takes any notice of alarms going off anymore

  3. i have to agree,
i fitted alarms (Toad, Clifford, sigma etc) for over 4 years and i wouldn't bother on a Bay
a tracker would have to be so carefully installed to have it hidden to make it usefull.

as for a immobiliser could be bypassed in seconds afterall the battery is next to the engine.

  4. If you live in a high risk area it may be the only way to get cheaper insurance. Alarms are still deterrents too. Anything you can do to make it harder for scumbags to rob your vehicle is worth it in my opinion. Not in London, sorry, so I cannot recommend, but a few on here live there so hopefully will see this thread :)

  5. Thanks for all your advice!

a tracker is probably a better bet, though they all have to get fitted in the sam place give or take
