  4. Well, it's been a busy period. Moving to a paid version of the magazine was always going to be difficult for us because free was 'easy' and free was 'cheap'. Trouble was, we soon learned that few actually wanted to work for free! Can't blame them. Would you if it meant incurring expenses out of your own pocket? OK, some will for all eternity, but it's a well known that people deserve to be paid for work, and no one should hold that against them. That's just one of the reasons why we decided to move to a paid magazine. The other is because we wanted to improve the magazine and attract quality freelance material from around the world and that is now happening. And we wanted to bring on board video content and enlarge the capacity of the magazine. We're now reaching even larger audiences (in terms of geography, not sales!). We've along way to go before sales ever match our free distribution record - around 50,000! Phew! But getting this far has cost quite a bit, so like the other big mags out there, we need to see a return on the investment.

For those of you who have not experienced the new issue, perhaps you could be tempted to take a look at our new website / blog site. Same address: http://www.aircooledclassicsmagazine.com where we've laid out all 158 pages of the latest issue so you at least know how much is advertising.

Please remember that like the other couple of freebie mags out there (and we wish them all the luck in the world), we're still independent, still aircooled enthusiasts.

Pete, we need to talk about advertising options on the forum. Will email you when I get my head in gear.

    Thanks for your support,

    Paul

PS BusFreeze is cancelled for the time being and is being replaced with DubFreeze 2 in November (4th) if you haven't already heard. You'll still have club camping sorted for you and the halls will obviously be fuller with more stuff. BUT - if you as a club have any ideas that you want to talk to me about then please contact me through the DubFreeze website ASAP as we're starting to plan the event. Yes, it's a strange world some of us lead - mags, shows and a life 'of sorts' outside of it all. ;) Cheers. Paul.
