Air filer vacuum hoses

  1. I'm in the process of trying to set up the engine to run properly and one of the things I need to do is get all the hoses in the right place. I have come across two diagrams of how to attach the hoses but I am unsure as to which is correct? Here are the two diagrams, followed by a pic of my engine bay:

On Mine it is currently set up as:
    A - not connected
    B - not connected
C - connected to the fuel breather system
    D - connected as shown
    E - blocked
    F - blocked
    G - n/a (I have a 009 dizzy)
    H - blocked

    Cheers :)

The only difference is whether to connect to the manifold or the carb. Either will work.
At H there looks to be a big and a small pipe. The big is for servo and yours looks blocked. The little is for the thermo flap vacuum.

  3. Yeah my H has a small and a large connection. The large is blocked with the blue pipe you can see in the pic.

Cheers, Zed, I'll get it plumbed in!

If you were ever to retro-fit a servo, that one big chunk of the work not needed. Pain in the bum when there's no vac take-off.

  5. What is a servo?

  6. Some bays have servo assisted brakes. For the brake servo to work, it needs vacuum from the manifold. You'll know if you've not got a brake servo.

Yes, because that pipe would be connected up!
Standard bus servo halves the braking effort required.

  8. I thought it was for brakes but couldn't see what the intake had to do with it!
