Agreed value insurance, Good or bad?

  1. Is it good to have the agreed value or not, this is the question. say for example your van is worth 8k IYHO, and you declare this as so, then if the worst happens, you'll presumably get 8K less excess. But if you didn't have AV, then they would give you market value, yes? which would be... well lets just look in the magazines...er um! say £12k? What say you?

  3. If you don't have agreed value then they will give you the book price, which is about £500 ish........ So yes, worth it!

They need proof that your bus is in good shape, not a dying rust bucket.

  4. Think you will find insurance companies will pay you next to nowt if you dont have agreed valuation. I might be wrong but thats what i was lead to believe??

Market value. But whether they agree a value or not they will ask it's value and you won't get more than that.
