Agreed Valuation

  1. Bit disappointed...

Tried to insure the van for £10000 agreed value, but they only valued it at around £7k. I know there are a few little probs with it, but to get it on the road before I spent anything else on it cost me 7k. Any tips for getting this value up?

I guess its probably a case of s**t happens!

Who gave you the agreed value....is it worth contacting a professional restorer who will give an unbiased opinion?

  3. I haven't heard back about my agreed value but i went to a local VW Bus company and he gave me a letter head with his recommended value on it. I had to send pictures to supprt it to. :)

peter james let you value your van without expert opinion upto 15 grand,(over that you need independent valuation off a club) i sent about 10 photos in to them and filled in a form saying what it was etc etc and i asked for 14 grand they said it was fine and agreed, i guess it's who you're with.

  6. Cheers guys. With HIC or something. Back page of C&B last month. Tried to explain interior was being redone but obviously to no avail. Bit annoyed now that if it goes up or gets nicked i lose so much money. Will try and post pics I used a bit later. Even explained a lot of effort and cost had gone into underside. Guess I just have to be careful for the next 12 months.

  7. i think your mixing up the van's value and what you have spent on the van

i don't think any of us would ever get our money back if we sold them

  8. I've gotta send in pics to peter james for my insurance, i've only asked for an agreed £7.5k though at the mo, i'm just hoping they agree it, because i'd struggle to get another in the same condition as mine for that.
