  1. Just wondered if anyone can offer advice re sliding door. Ive never had this off or had to do anything to it before but today it all of a sudden has decided not to want to catch ie with rear catch?? when i slide it shut?? If i shut it by pushing the door at the hinge it will shut but pulling usual way with handle it doesnt want to catch?? I noticed that the screw holding the handle on had worked loose,i tightened it up but it hasnt improved anything. When i push it shut at the hinge i can then lock /pull the door in tight as normal by pulling up handle. Any ideas anyone, is it likely to get worse??? Cheers Barney

    Hello :D

i had problems with mine and it was a sort of thick washer but not round internally that had split, Can you find a web page showing how to change parts incase a part has broken? I onnly realised my problem as I spotted the broken piece on the floor- good luck :D

  4. Cured mine when it went like that. Now need a memory probe to remember how I did it. :(

  6. I didn't take the door off or anything equaly dramatic....got a feeling it may have just been a matter of lubrication on the usual places, oiling the two pivot points of the hinge and greasing both slideways.

  7. At the rear edge of the door close on the body there is a little spring that has come off, that is why your door won't stay open. :)

If you look there are 2 little fingers, one finger is spring loaded, they fall off all the time its very common, you'll need to look at a picture of one to see what I mean. ???

  8. do you have a link to the part?

  9.
  10. I may have got your problem wrong, do you mean your door won't latch in the open position? :)

  12. OK it is either the catch on the door or the striker on the van, check the part has not come off. ???

  14. Cheers for help so far anyway guys i will sleep on it and give it a kick tomorrow................... dont think it wants me to take it camping next week its heard about cj.

  15. I got a couple of pics uploading at the mo. ;)

  16. dont push the door hinge end you will end up with a dent in the back panel ::)

take the door card off there are two cables these can be ajusted to make the back lock pull in,
it might pay to take the handle end apart the bit the cables are fixed to if you get this out and have a good look at it there should be a very small end of a spring poking out if you cant see it the lock has had it and you wont get the back end to pull in no matter what you do

  17. Make sure both the pivots for the "fingers" on the hinge carriage are lubed. One latches the door when its fully open and is released when you lift the door handle and the other holds the hinge at right angles to the body when the door is open only releasing the hinge to swing just as the door is closing.

  18.
