Advantages and disadvantages of becoming a Avon lady. Career change advice please.

  1. A former colleague of mine had a career change and went to become a regional manager at Betterware. He seems to be doing OK.

You probably need to account for where the catalogues/stock is going to be stored - stuff like Avon/Tupperware/Betterware etc does usually involve having a lot of stuff hanging around the house. My nan was an Avon dealer and when we cleared out her house after she died there was loads and loads of the bloody stuff. Never short of shampoo at my folks' house. ;)

  4. Rick has moved into his house with the 200ft garage and was last seen knocking down all the interior walls and ripping all the electrics out. He seems happy. ;)

    I'm homeless though. :(

We're in Kiddiminster right now in MacDonalds in Weavers Wharf looking for our next campsite Malc. Shame you couldn't make it last night. We had our first drink in the Duke, which was filled with pregnant teenagers loudly discussing which benefits they were getting. That became tiresome so we moved 200 yards up the road to the Forresters where we had a lovely meal but had to listen to BMW and Audi drivers loudly discussing how much money and how many things they had.
I think we'll probably go Oxford way tonight.

I recently worked with a plumber who, unstereotypically, also did Avon. He said he'd started helping his nan do her round, then took it on when she couldn't do it any longer. I reckon he was early 30's and said it was extra evening cash the enabled him to change his car every year.

He was a bit of a charmer and said his sales were a bit more difficult after her got married and he was getting older! :)

He said although it was a pain sometimes when he was v busy with plumbing but he enjoyed doing it (I imagine the housewives made it bit more enjoyable) and it pleased his nan and earned bit extra cash.

move went good, restricting my tlb time as i'm mad busy when i get home from work, looking forward to a weekend off at the moment for t/e..... i did start a thread "hello from great wyrley" or summat like that which shows my destructive forces.
plasterer in today doing the front room, few more bits for the sparks to do over the next week before the plumber comes after i've ragged the kitchen out.

The only people who make money out of Avon are Avon.
Paula looked at it but the numbers just don't stack up.

Alot has changed round here. TLB was getting a bit "touchy feely" with all the "sharing". Now we just meet up once a week for a good old fashioned tear up. If a friend cant give you a black eye and concussion, who can?

  17. How about working at B&Q?
They take on more 'mature' people and you could demonstrate your skills with a hammer and screwdriver.
    PS Welcome back.

  18. Why not become an Amway distributor? That way, you can alienate all of your family and friends, lose money and have a garage full of unsold detergent. Worth a try, surely!

  19. Why not just re brand some blue circle, get out there with your trowel and do wedding makeovers in the mobile barn?

Edit: Thought it had been quiet round here, twas a lack of Poppy! :)
