Just had my renewal notice for my GTi. £492. No agreed value (and why would you??), 3000 mile limited policy, business use, no convictions, parked on the street so l am some what miffed. Only paid around £350 last year. Popped over to the Meerkats and managed to get it to £375. Funny enough it cost an extra £70 to have it parked in the garage...go figure that one out??
Yes, got very expensive. Had quite a lot of policies with them before, but none now. Quote for the Elise was a joke - double what I ended up paying - which isn't very good when they are supposed to be a sports / specialist insurer.
I left them when they wanted £1000 for a 1987 mk2 golf 1.8gl 5 door when almost all others i called could do it for almost half.
AF tried to stiff me this year - Cherished get my business now and are a pleasure to deal with. AF were ok to use too but they're fees are extortionate. My premium would not have changed, it was their admin fees that went up. :
i like sureterm my camper is insured for 10k and i pay 13.00 a month with breakdown rofl! love them! 5000 miles a year
thats bad :O i did get 40.00 charges from close finance for missing a payment ...which they WILL be giving me back as ive reported them as its not within the financial guidelines to charge that much anymore ...if they think they are exempt they need to think again
used to have my works van insurance with them, got the renewal from them for £380 thought that a bit steep so looked around on the net, everyone else was below £200 asked them if they wanted to requote and was told no we can't match that
The voiceover for the Meerkats adverts is Michael the Handyman of Alan Partridge fame. That alone, if true, is enough reason to buy through them.
