I've just driven back from Anglesey to Cheshire with a half connected accelerator pedal ??? It finally gave up the ghost when I pulled into the drive having driven with the side of my foot pushing on the right hand side of the pedal all the way home. It seems to have been bodged with a cabinet hinge and some pop rivets after the original hinge had given way. Now the replacement hinge has sheared on the left hand side. Looks like I need a new pedal and linkage set - so just looking at JK - which describes it as 'budget' http://www.justkampers.com/shop/accelerator-pedal-bundle-kit-j11613.html Is that OK does anybody know - or is there something more robust out there?
Right then - temporary repair done with self tapper thru remaining part of hinge, and replacement hinge and pedal ordered. The hinge doesn't come with bolts and I'm struggling to find the size of bolt to attach hinge thru the floor. Anybody?
Ah..the door hinge. You're in the presence of a true bodger... The JK kit looks fine, assuming the pedal's compatible with your existing linkage. I'd give it a go - I'd be tempted to use the original pedal. The original hinges were were spot-welded to the floor. But, bolts should be fine.
