Off to RAF Wittering from Nottm after work and need to be there for 7. Whats the A1 like on a Friday eve. Should I be making an early dart from work?

Busy but normally moving. going north of Newark. Probably same going south off the A52. Wittering isn't that far south of A52. Better than the M1 through Notts.
Generally !! Coming down on Fridays ok, all the traffics going up, Coming up on a Mondays ok coz all the traffics coming back down
The only place it queues is back fom A47 to Wittering heading south on Fridays. This is normal rush hour time, you may come along after this.
Road works at Ollerton. Busy up to M18 at Doncaster then eases a bit. What WoodyLubber says is spot on
Unless the layout has been improved it can back up on A1 southbound at the Wittering turning waiting for the northbound to clear enough to cross. If my recall is working the right turn slip only holds about 6 cars.
