A word of warning if you are selling your VW

  1. Someone just offered to buy my campervan paying via Paypal but was reluctant to pay any other method. I rang Paypal and they advised me NOT to proceed as their buyer/seller protection doesn't cover motor vehicles. Also, they only received a max of £5,500 in one payment - if you have to receive multiple payments then you are similarly not protected. Paypal said if a buyer was insistent on Paypal as the only method of payment then it is likely to be a scam

  2. thanks for the heads up :) not selling my bus, but will have other motors hopefully going soon..

  3. Possibly a scam, or it could just be someone who wants buy a bus on their credit card?

but you'd never let any vehicle go without cleared funds in the bank would you?

I would accept nothing but cash when selling a vehicle. Preferably in the bank.

  5. i'd take a deposit of 200 quid, and the rest in cash on collection,

  7. A non returnable wedge , then the balance ,again cash .thats how i went about paying for my bus ,in fact i confirmed in writing to the seller that the deposit was her"s too keep if i had not returned in 5 days with balance ,and got a receipt for same once deal was done. i have to see the white of the sellers eyes and cash only ,job/deal done.

  8. Good luck out there ;)
