  1. ##### SOLD #####

    Hi all.......
I bought my Porsche back in January as a daily driver.
It was to replace the daily duties of my Triumph Stag which had taken a bit of a back burner in the body shop where it was only going to be for a few weeks.
Well the body shop got busier & busier & a friend was doing it between jobs. I couldn't see me getting it back to quick so I went on the hunt for a 944.
Being a Porsche virgin I never even considered a 924 as I always thought I'd never find a good one as the 944 had always taken the crown.
However I was disapointed with the amount of rusty 944's there seem to be & if there is one thing I wont tolorate, its rust.
    Anyway..........
By chance I came across this car & pretty much ticked all my boxes, so I bought it.
Now, at last, the Stag is back in the bodyshop & it looks like i'll be getting it back pretty soon.
This means the 924 in going to have to go & make way for the Stag (Victorian Terrace house with no drive).

    So...... The car........

    Its a 924 LUX Auto.
    1985 on a B reg.
Taxed until the end of the year.
    Mot'd until August next year.
Its in Guards Red with the Black Porsche logo'd interior trim.
This car is one of THE most original 924's I have seen around.
There is NO rust at all anywhere on this car.
It has NEVER been welded or re-painted.
Its had NO modifications anywhere other than a CD player fitted.

Its not perfect as it is 27 years old & now on 106000 miles.
There will be the odd mark here & there.
Being a Guards Red Porsche it has typically been polished within every inch of its life.
There are a few places where the paint has worn through to the original yellow primer ( edges of the pop up headlights, edges of the door mirrors, edge of the rain gutters).
I had the car mopped & waxed when I first bought it to get the paint sharp again, but didn't keep up with the polishing or even washing if I'm honest due to the non existent summer & could do with a buff up again.
The interior is pretty damn perfect really, showing no wear & tear anywhere, other than the usual wear round the steering wheel & edge of the leather T shift.
Obviously it has cracks in the dash top (I'm pretty sure that's the law on a 924).
It has all the LUX features still intact, including........
    Tinted glass.
    Electric windows.
Electric sunroof (with its black stowage bag).
    Electric mirrors.
    Electric Arial.
    Head light washers.
    4 speaker stereo.
    Rear retractable shelf (working).
    Rear wheel spats.
15" X wire Turbo style wheels (including the spare) with matching make tyres.

The car drives really nice & feels tight.
The steering is pin sharp & the brakes feel strong.
The engine does not smoke or rattle, doesn't get hot or cause any bother.
The Autobox works fine & feels smooth, its not pin sharp in a modern car style but then its an old car (I assume this is how 924s are).

There are a few tiny faults which I will list, but are no more than your average 5 year old car........
The electric Arial is not wired into the CD player (the radio was missing when I bought it so I fitted a CD player but have no idea how to wire the electric Arial to it ?).
The central clip holding up the drivers side sunvisor broke when my son flipped the pass side one down too hard.
The electric boot release works but the bar connecting the motor to the lock is missing ? (works fine with the key).
The is a crack in the bottom of the screen (been there several years & is "n" shaped so wont get any bigger).
One wheel centre cap is missing.
There is a small hole in the rear seat centre hump side where I think someone started to fit rear seat belts but then changed their mind.
When I had the car mopped it revealed it had had a small paint repair on the pass rear wing (the ONLY non original bit on the body).
The bonnet & tailgate gas rams are a bit weak.
And that really is about it.......
One totally original, Totally honest, never been messed around with, Rust free Car.

I use it as a daily driver for shopping, picking up the kids, driving to the coast, everything.
I honestly cant believe how good it is on petrol too.
Easy as good if not better than my old GTi.

Anyway, sorry this has been so long winded, I'm just trying to be as honest & as thorough as possible.

    I'm asking £1500 ono.
The cars parked in Plumstead, South East London.
PM me on here or call me on 07930 890427 if your interested.
Here's a pic (the only one I have on my phone but I will take some more).

I have two sets of the original keys, including the Cobra immobiliser keys & the original Porsche key type locking wheel nuts.
Ignition, Doors & petrol cap share the same key (black petrol filler drip shield is still there too).
I have a fair chunk of service history receipts/Mot's/etc.....
The V5c is in my name & address.

    Thanks for reading all this.
    Andy.

  2. More pics.
    Freshly taken today........

    Engine bay.
    2.0i 8valve 4 pot engine.
Based on Audi with tuning by Porsche.

    Pass side interior.

    Rear seats.
    Strictly a 2+2.

    Boot area.
Quite big considering the Gearbox/Transaxle lives under the boot floor (for near perfect 50/50 weight distribution).
Cubby holes either side to store tools, full size spare under the cover, bag is to store the removable sunroof, back seat folds down just like in a modern hatch.

    Boot area.
    With retractable luggage cover extended.

    Front view.
Here you can see where it could do with a bit of a buff up again.
80's red cars & parked in direct sun don't mix if your too lazy to clean it (err like me).

Please don't confuse running one of these as being in the same price bracket as a 944/928/or 911.
These are no dearer to run & maintain than an 80's Golf GTi.
    924's are classed as GT's.
Where as the 944's/928's & 911's are out & out Sports/Super cars & come with high end parts prices.
This is no dearer to run than a Mondeo.

    Thanks for looking.
    Andy.
