  1. spent working on the van today - I'm c r e a m crackered. Didn't even have that much to do, but the van fought me all the way today.

Four shock absorbers changed - every single nut n bolt was seized or done up by the mexican mechanic with a length of scaffold pole   I used bar extensions, a gallon of plus gas and in some cases an angle grinder to get things moving. Then discovered that one of the front flexible brake hoses was damaged  so had to take a trip to JK (they are the closest) to get a new hose, fit that and bleed the brakes. Also did a few silly little jobs like fitting grommets round brake pipes etc.

I hope that is the last of the major things done for the MOT in the next week or so.

Only thing is that the old shocks were some strange coil over ones fitted when the van was in Mexico. so putting standard oil BOGEs on there has meant the rear end has sagged about an inch or so. Mind the the front also seems to not have its nose in the air as much - and the ride is much nicer. ;D

Now I think it may be time for a pint of port to ease the aches :burp:

  6. been outside for about the same time - dodging showers. had a list of little things to do, managed to touch up some paintwork, built two buddy seats for storage, put nylon locking nuts on everything that needed locking down, cut down a storage unit to fit behind the drivers seat and put in an aluminium edge by the slidey door. Doesnt look like I've achieved much but they all needed doing. Hopefully stay dryish tomorrow
