  1. I didnt want to do this already. Im looking for a late T4 or an early T5 so im putting the bay up for sale. (this is also partly because my pops who usually helps me out with my projects is stuck in everybody elses, and i seem to be working more and more - especially with the olympics. Had the work been done by now as it was supposed to have been I probably would have kept this one)

Barnabus as the Gf's 3 year old calls him, was purchased in March this year, sat at the side of a field looking rather sorry for himself. He hadn't moved in two years according to the last owner.
The back was kitted out as a band bus , with aluminium and chequered plating everywhere pop riveted in to hold band equipment. The rock and roll bed was a badly self extended 3/4 to a full.

I bought barnabus pretty much based on how straight the panels were. It was refreshing to see a van not full of filler and not falling apart with rot- although there are areas that would need attention.
I would go as far as to say this was the best base for a project I have come across, and I've had a few.

I ripped the lnterior out. There were no panels. and so on a budget I looked at what I could do for myself.
I bought some ply , and have insulated with foil insulation and ply lined the panels and roof on the inside, this isn't absolutely perfect, but it makes the van a lot more fresh and is a superb blank canvas.
I bought a brand new full width rock n roll bed from volkswares and had them make some upholstered cushions to go in the back. These are black leatherette with yellow edging to match the front seats. These and the RnR bed were £800.00 alone. This bed is together but not fitted to the van itself.

I bought a dash mat and vinyl chequered flooring from mad matz to go in and have fitted the flooring. The dash mat faded within a few weeks though which I wasn't overley impressed about.
The rear windows are all tinted black for extra privacy.
The window rubbers all look brand new- which is a bonus and one less job to have to do.

Barnabus is being sold as a non runner, although we have had him running.
Realistically he needs the engine out and it needs to be stripped and rebuilt (I may have an engine gasket set to come with) some HT leads ,fuel and a battery jump pack should get him started but the engine will still require a strip down and rebuild.
He brakes well and the gears work fine,I know this because I have had the engine running and I have test driven the van to ensure there are no knocking/clonks. not bad for sitting for 2 years.

No Tax or MOT. Unfortunately the previous owner had no history to go with him either. He was last on the road in 2010.
I know that he needs some outriggers welding- and a good going over from front to back to get ready for an MOT, I do not have a definitive list - as my dad usually does that side of things for me.
The drivers door (N/s) doesn't always lock so this will need attention, the home made door cards are not fitted to the drivers door. Also, the quarter light on this door is just a piece of perspex.

Come and have a look for yourself and see what the score is with this van - I think its fairly priced with the current market, whatever it sells for, Ill be missing out on a few quid- But I'm realistic.
I'm not expecting to get my money back but at the same time I don't even want the bus to go.
The reason for sale: I have my mk v golf for sale on ebay at the minute and for whatever reason, Ive had no interest- I am after a T4 Lez compliant or T5 van and the only way it will happen is if one of them goes, if the van sells, I will relist the golf as an auction and let it go for whatever it goes for. Ive put these both together to see if there is interest in a swap for a T5 to the value of 6.5-7k

    price options for the Bay
1>- £3800 or very close offer- This will get you the van - the new RnR bed , the Upholstery and a set of 1641 barrels and pistons which are still boxed and were brought with the intention of fitting to this van
2> £3100 takes the van - but does NOT include the RnR bed, the upholstered cushions or the barrels and pistons set.

all the pictures I have are here http://photobucket.com/74bay

I have only have one key, but have the V5- No previous MOTS.

I prefer PMs to phonecalls due to the stupidly long shifts I work (ill get a notification on my phone if im awake)

Im all up for you bringing a screw driver and poking the van, Im sure you'll find small amounts of remedial welding, that is why I have tried to be realistic with the price. I am bidable to a degree. If this sells, I shall put my mk 5 golf up for auction. the alternative is that I swap both vehicles for an early T5 ( I will look at getting Late bay single cab pick up once all this is sorted- ive always wanted one).

  2. now sold
