I just got the fridge running on gas for the first time, is an o-range flame ok? I thought I'd read something about a flame being a blue colour was best?

Running on propane if that helps? Book says it runs on either but makes no mention of flame colour - just that it has a view hole to see it is lit.

Annoying signature? I typed this post on tapatalk. It's the future.

Is that for a pilot light? Blue flame best. Yellow flame can mean not enough oxygen and gas not burning correctly, poss by product of carbon monoxide. However, some things have a yellow flame as are set up to be like that. Have you got a regulator on your gas bottle?

Yea you can see it in the pic, yes hole is pilot

  4. Should be blue. Clean gas jet and any accumilated lint from around burner. Bit of compressed air should do it.ifvits sooty rond burner clean it. Is bottle pressure ok ie plenty of gas?

  5. Blue. Not a hint of yellow on the 3 way in the Puck.

It's never been used on gas before, I'm wondering if it's all dusty etc, maybe I should have put it outside and left it on for a while

  7. Highly likely. Also possible that once run for a while it may clean itself up but dont count on it id vac it or blow dust out when cold of course.

  8. As noted above - flame should be blue .
Yellow means contamination in the flame tube / jet .
You`ll need to get it cleaned out asap as it won`t be burning clean and possibly producing carbon monoxide .
The only way to sort this properly is to strip the burner and give it a good clean with an airline - ask me how i know

cheers folks, to be fair there's a very small chance i'll ever need it on gas - i don't overly fancy stripping it down to be honest but maybe i'll have a fiddle when i'm bored..... i might even sort the fridge out too.

  10. Yeah my rm122 was blue and so is my 3 way now.
The 2 way was 35 year old as well but screw running it on anything but lpg in my opinion not worth it for how much you can chill in it, I always turned it off at night as well
