1977 Westfalia

  1. Ive owned this bus going on 3 years now and have been steadily making upgrades and corrections along the way. A very stock and solid standard originally from the San Francisco Bay area, I bought from the 3rd owner? Along the way there is a new pOp tOp tent with new rubbers and paint for the shell, re-skinned cabinets with the addition of the deluxe cooker-sink, cleaned up headliner, new upholstery for the fronts and some nice chunky tires on black powdercoated rims. Kind of a PNW offroad signature thing ; )

But lately Ive been able to expand my trinket searching abroad. I bought two Westfalia Essen Trailers, a couple of Westfalia hitches (correct vintage for a bay) and a rare in the States Westfalia Tent originally bought by a gentiment here in 1977.

I lurk here allot and hope to be more of a contributor. You all have such nice clean buses, Im impressed daily!

  8. Shortly after the last show attended here, I pulled the windscreen and did some rust control repairs. Ive been wanting the screen gone as it has the blue strip at top and sits right in my eyesight. So this was a perfect excuse to do so. So out it came and on with some grinding, filling and painting for now. I know it could use a replacement piece but this will have to do till the 74 gets finished in its full body resto.

Part of the fun to of have the screen out was to remove the dash top and repaint it. While off all the insides near the wires and all were cleaned out thoroughly. Good thing to as there was years of road dirt in there and cat hair. The top was sanded down and given a nice coat of prime and satin paint. Looks brand new at the moment all purdy and clean.
