  1. 1975 dark red VW Campervan, Bay Window, £8200 ONO

*SOBS* I am selling Gus, with the saddest of hearts. I only bought him a few months ago and he's adorable. But because of a new business commitment, it means that poor Gus won't get the love and attention and drives out into the countryside that he deserves as I'll be working so hard.

Gus is a 1975 Bay Window and he had a resto' about 4.5 years ago: "All the panels that needed it, full respray, etc." according to his last owner (who had him for four years).

The recon engine needed a complete overhaul when I bought it, even though it was only four years old. Even though it had twin carbs fitted, these had to be tuned and the engine was taken out to replace the valves and tappets.

New curtains have been fitted by me. I have taken the door cards out, but still have the panels to re-cover.

    Features include:
3/4 rock/roll bed with full foams & new denim covers
Sink & fridge (from original interior) with water bottle
Full-length sunroof (fibre glass, it slides all the way back)
The bus has Porsche Teledials (with two new front wheels purchased by me) and has "tombstone" front seats fitted.
    Lowered on adjusters on beams

    Tax until December 2012
12 months MOT (passed its MOT last week – just needed a locking fuel cover, which it now has)
    Mileage: 61,000

Gus drives really well – 65mph on the motorway, no problem. The gears are also great: my mechanic, who looks after a fleet of VWs for a Campervan hire company, said that they're the cleanest gears he's come across.

    Issues:
Small oil leak – nothing major. Apparently this is to be expected from a campervan!
Rear driver-side and passenger-side wings need sorting as they're bubbling and flaking
    Bubbling at rear (pictured below)
My mechanic says it's looking solid underneath, thanks to the restoration four years ago
The guy that had it before painted the interior with a paintbrush and gloss paint, so it needs work (the bed is really comfy & cosy though)
The paintwork's good - it polishes up beautifully, but it still requires some attention (nothing major, mostly cosmetic)
Missing sliding door cover (available from JustKampers for £40)

Work done in the last 4 months:
    - Engine rehaul (£1500+) including new cylinder head, an engine re-tune and setting up the linkage on the carbs
    - New front tyres (£150)

    Collection only from Margate, Kent
    £8200 ONO

Will take pictures of undercarriage tomorrow in the light.
