I've had loads of 1303's. Always liked them. Most of them needed loads of welding though. This looks like a good un.

  4. How do you find the weber progressive?

  5. The weber progressive was already on the engine when I bought the Beetle.
Once it's well adjusted, it's working well. But until a satisfying working result is achieved, it takes time and patience! The settings are very sensitive and not easy to be done with the positions of the setting screws. To put it very bluntly, I am not completely satisfied with this carburetor.
In order to finance my new project, I certainly need to sell the Beetle otherwise I would change the carburetor.

  6. Nice looking 03. Looks good with the marathon wheels.
Mine was a right rotter so was cut up for scrap. :(

Just noticed are they 'Marathon Beetle' wheels on yours?

  11. Yes, they are indeed 'Marathon Beetle' wheels that have been sandblasted and painted.

  12. They were also used in the US on the Baja champion SE, and were available in a different offset for use on the type3 too.
This is what my 1303 looked like. :(

  13. You dont see them much these days? Mind you there are not many beetles on the roads either? Shame...

  14. LOVE THE DODGY HAIR DO S LOL OWEN NW

  15. They are also the heaviest steel wheels available for the beetle for some reason. I think theres a firm in the US planning on making alloy versions of them though.

  16. They were probably worried about wheel breakages - those gaps are larger than the stock ones! Pretty sure there are some alloys already similar to those anyway (why bother?)
