  1. 1974, VW BAY WINDOW

    17,OOO MILES, Right HandDrive

    ORIGINAL IRISH VEHICLE

In brief, this Ambulance was purchased as a facory/plant service vehicle by Dairygold Creamery, Michelstown. Cork in 1974, It was in service there until 2003, when It was sold on to a Cork buyer,

With 8,000 miles on the clock. He in turn advertised in in Volksworld magazine and it was sold to Roger Leon in London It was drystored and taken to the odd classic car show there, Then his use of a lockup came to an end he brought it to a The Volksworld show where I bought it from him in May 2009 with 11,800 miles recorded. It was registered in uk under the index XGF 339M

I brought it back to Ireland and registered it back to its original Index 7413 IF

It currently has 17,230 miles. It has featured in a few magazine articles, both in uk and here, of which I have copies. And has been used on two different TV shows.

It is as it left the VW factory, all upholstery , headlining interior are in original perfect
condition, paintwork is all original. except the 2 sliding door track covers which were soda blasted and painted. It is believed that only 2 or 3 of these were ever produced in RHD, and this vehicle is of museum quality and will only require minor paint detailling . The dent in the rear door pillar shows up in some pictures I have , which were taken when Dairygold disposed of it in 2003

It is unique in Ireland, and certainly amongst the best 5% of these vehicles in the world, in terms of condition and originality, It is totally reliable, and drives like new, It is a 1600 twin port

It would be wonderful to maintain it as is , but could be converted to a 2 person camper easily

I am located 3 miles from dublin airport and 4 miles from dublin ferry port Harbour shot 1_neu.jpg
