Fresh off the boat we have a really straight solid 74 Westy, thought I'd offer it here for a while before we make a start on it ourselves. Westy interior Full width rock and roll bed Over head locker, and wardrobe to the side of it Original roof Westy bed All original fabrics, drivers seat isn't great, but OE Westy material supplied. No rot anywhere, nothing at all. Been in the warm California sun all it's life Does have a the sink unit inside but it's not too great, we have a spare tho. Good tyres and wheels all round Type 4 engine, seems ok but haven't fired it up yet. Performance exhaust and header. All duties paid, and can walk you through the registration process. The front is really nice, I can't believe we have a type 2 in the workshop that doesn't have the front end whacked in!! 1 key fits all the locks!! It's had a repaint in the past but it's the original orange and they've done quite a good job, very very straight bodywork, no dents, only a small bit of bondo on the NS rear corner. The only negatives about this van is the sunroof that's been cut in over the front cab, it's not too bad and had been leak free for years, but I'd put the metal back in if we were doing it. And also the PO cut out the rear engine hatch. Again not too bad but defiantly you would want to put this back. That said, neither of the above points would stop you from getting an mot on it and driving it. More pics to come, and can take pics of anything else you want me to of the van. £6995 for a really really easy project, mot straight away then sort the bits out that need doing.
Where is it @Austin and what do you mean the rear hatch has been cut out? Any pics of sunroof / rear hatch?
No probs, here is a pic of the "sunroof" and of the rear hatch cut out. I can't think for the life of me why anyone would do this. The PO did like to "invent" things so maybe it made sense to him.
Knowing how the front fibreglass pod goes on - that must be a right hatchet job! Nice bus, really nice for the money....
