  1. Due to a change in circumstances, we unfortunately need to find our beloved camper a new home. :(
"Katie" is a 1972 VW RHD Type 2 Devon Pop Top Manufactured 14/09/72, first registered 22/03/73 so therefore Tax Exempt and qualifying for classic car insurance.
She has the original 1600 air-cooled engine and has done 116,000 miles from new. The engine has been stripped/rebuilt, new clutch, fuel filler/breather pipes renewed, new engine tinware and also new exhaust fitted with all work done by Absolute VW in Castle Donnington in April this year, which cost approx. £2K.
She is structurally sound - welding works completed in January this year, including the "top hat" cargo floor support, 2 outriggers and rear chassis cross member all replaced and the underside/chassis wax oiled.
New rear bumper and irons fitted in January 2013. Also wiper mechanism stripped & rebuilt (inc new washer jets & pipes), new wing mirrors and new front badge fitted July 2013.
The rear interior has been stripped, except for the 3/4 rock and roll bed (which has 2 seat belts fitted for travel) and table so is ready for a new interior (if required). There is also a bunk in the pop top so she currently sleeps 3 people. The front seats are original and in excellent condition.
The pop top is completely watertight but will need a new lid in due course (they are £400 off Just Kampers).
Included in the sale is a 4 berth "Royal Traveller" Drive Away awning used only once that cost £300.
She has just sailed through her MOT (so expires in June 2014) and we have a lever arch file full of old MOT's, receipts etc.
We are looking for £8,995.00 for her, but sensible offers will be considered.

Please contact me (Rich) on 07950 253912 to view, we are in Wolverhampton (WV11)

Looks like a good price to me.
What happened to the front deformation panel?

  4. A PO decided that Katie didn't need any bumpers so when we bought her she had none. Anyway the front lower panel is from an prototype bay I believe hence no deformation panel. We quite like her without a front bumper now :)

  5. Bump!!

She needs a new home so will now consider offers starting at £7,000 :(

  6. Now SOLD
