FOR SALE 1800 type 4 engine

Coming soon, Type 4 1800 currently in my bus as a temporary engine whilst I rebuilt its original.

The bad bits

It smokes a little bit on start up
and It will need an alternator
probably needs and oil seal on the flywheel end as fairly new clutch now slips
Would be ideal for a rebuild

The good bits
2 new solex carbs (less than 1000 miles on them)
heat exchangers look pretty new (ish)
most of the tinware is there
has always started and run

This will be coming out just after Christmas so available from about the 29th December

For the whole engine as it stands £600 collect from South East London

May split if not enough interest so watch this space.

 

Might be interested in carbs and linkage setup etc. ...

Its the cb performance carbs as per Heritage etc, But i'd sooner sell the it all as a lot first

 

Don't let me hold ya back, if you can sell all then great. Got to find ££ anyway.

Just be nice to get working carbs and put them straight off yours onto mine.

I've got a dozen in the shed that need refurb, but I'm not convinced there any good - drunk eBay purchases lol

 

Thers a few places that'll sort OG ones for you, @dubster used southern carburetors to refurb his i believe and for not a fortune? i got a pair from stateside tuning which is what i'm putting onto the new engine on a trade in basis.

 

Heads for me if you do split it. Might take short motor if its the right money.

 

Engine code would be useful please.

It's getting all the kit that goes with it that's the real problem.

 

I'll have a sort through over the next couple of weeks and see what i have spare.

My carbs were re-done by carb exchange as recommended by @zed, if I remember they were under £200.

@Razzyh , what's up with your carbs?

 

If they're standard ones and have been fiddled with they can be a mare to set up, maybe we can get them somewhere near at techenders. Alternatively they go well with a pair of ICT's which are as cheap as chips.
